VinGrate Mat

DESIGN:
VinGrate is our premium shower and wet area mat. Solid vinyl top treads with a flat surface are spaced approximately 1/4" apart, creating a large contact area that is comfortable under bare feet. The top treads have a gentle ribbed texture to enhance traction and further reduce the risk of slip-and-fall accidents. These top treads are fused to black bottom treads made from the same material.
  The bottom treads that contact the floor are spaced about 1" apart for excellent drainage. During manufacturing, the bottom treads are hot-pressed and shaped into a wave profile on the side that touches the floor. This wave design allows water to drain in multiple directions underneath the mat.
  This dense duckboard-style construction and solid tread design result in a weight of approximately 1.11 lb per square foot (about 5.4 kg per square meter). Larger pieces are very stable on most surfaces due to this weight and the open-grid design.

VinGrate has tested well in direct sunlight and is one of the few wet area matting products that performs reliably in outdoor environments. For outdoor showers, boats, marinas and similar applications, we generally recommend lighter colors to minimize heat build-up.

CUSTOMIZATION:
Maximum Length:
We stock this shower matting in 3 ft and 4 ft wide rolls that are 39 ft long. The maximum runner length is therefore limited by the full roll length. Because VinGrate weighs over a pound per square foot, full 4 ft × 39 ft rolls are often too heavy for standard parcel services and may need to ship via freight carrier.

Maximum Width:
If your facility requires a shower or locker room mat wider than 4 ft (the widest roll), E-clips can be used to connect multiple sections side by side. For a strong connection and a clean, nearly seamless appearance, we recommend placing E-clips every 10–12 inches.
 
Custom Shapes:
We sell only rectangular mats, but VinGrate runners are easy to cut with a sharp utility knife (use solid blades, not snap-off blades). As long as the blade is new and the mat is at room temperature, cutting is straightforward. When in doubt, order pieces slightly larger than needed and trim them on site to fit around showers, drains, fixtures and pipes.

Colors:
We stock VinGrate in four standard colors: blue, gray, black and tan. Special-order colors are available with a minimum of three rolls and potentially long lead times. We import multiple containers per year from the factory, so lead time depends on where we are in our ordering cycle.
 

MAINTENANCE:
VinGrate mats can be cleaned with the same cleaning solutions you use for your showers and wet areas. For tougher residue, a stiff-bristle brush may be helpful. These mats can also be washed with a pressure washer. If using a pressure washer capable of more than 1500 PSI, keep the nozzle at least 12" away from the mat surface.
