Pawling RGA-200 Entrance Grate

The RGA-200 Drain-Well™ entrance grate is engineered for demanding commercial environments such as hotels, hospitals, convention centers, and institutional facilities. Designed for high-traffic areas and heavy rolling loads up to 350 lbs. per wheel, this durable aluminum grate system allows debris to fall beneath the walking surface while providing a clean, heel-proof tread.

The panel is constructed from extruded T-shaped 6063-T5 aluminum rails mounted onto 5/16" steel rods, spaced every 12". High-density polyethylene spacers provide consistent gap spacing and extend below the treads to reduce noise and vibration. The 13/16" thickness allows for significant debris capture, and each panel weighs approximately 2.6 lbs. per square foot.

Panel Construction

The RGA-200 panel is built using extruded aluminum treads assembled onto 5/16" diameter steel rods spaced every 12".
HDPE spacers maintain even spacing between treads and extend below the panel to create a quiet, cushioned contact point with the recessed frame. This design minimizes clatter and helps maintain the integrity of the mat under heavy rolling traffic.

Note: During construction, it is recommended to protect the recess by filling it with plywood covered by an overlapping sheet to prevent frame or substrate damage. Before final installation, ensure the recess is clean and level for proper panel fit.

Maintenance

To clean, lift the panel from the recess and remove debris and dirt beneath. Clean the recess thoroughly and ensure it is flat before reinstalling the grate to prevent damage or noise during use. The grate itself can be hosed off and scrubbed with a firm brush using general-purpose cleaning solutions.
